Animal Emergency and Referral Center

We cannot diagnose your pet or recommend treatment by telephone or e-mail. If you have a medical emergency, please call and then bring in your pet and allow a veterinarian to conduct an examination.

The Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Central Iowa provides medical and surgical emergency services when other veterinary facilities are closed. At least one veterinarian and veterinary technician are present at all times during business hours.  We have been in existence since April, 1980, and are Des Moines only fully-attended veterinary emergency clinic.

At The Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Central Iowa our goal is to guide our clients through the medical management and care of their pets. Our team of administrative and clinical staff has the expertise to assist answering questions regarding the treatment and ongoing care of your pet. We will use our skills and knowledge to improve the health of your animal and relieve animal suffering wherever possible. In our new sate of the art facility, we will be professional in our appearance and display an outstanding facility, which exceeds our clients' expectations.
