DONATIONS TO ACF:

Because we are a private foundation, the Animal Care Foundation ofCentral Iowa does not receive government grants or support of any kind.  Consequently our animal care programs depend upon gifts from individuals like you, corporate sponsors, and foundations. 

If you work for a company that promotes charitable contributions please inquire about a matching donation.  Your donation not only doubles, but the awareness of our foundation has now increased two-fold.

Gifts to the Foundation are used in a variety of ways:

Ø  The “general fund” where the need is greatest

Ø  The “Good Samaritan Fund” which provides for sick or injured animals whose owners cannot afford professional medical care

Ø  Professional seminars to provide up-to-date advanced veterinary medical information to the veterinarians and their support staff in Iowa

Ø  Outreach programs to educate the general public in dealing with serious pet care problems and their solutions

Ø  A “capital fund” which could fund advanced technical equipment and/or facility significantly improving diagnostic and recovery procedures for the dogs and cats we help

Ø  Disaster care for abandoned or injured animals as a result of natural disasters or tornadoes occurring in Iowa

Dear Pet Owner/ Animal Lover:

You can help prevent the tragic loss of several hundred dogs and cats euthanized in the Des Moines and surrounding areas each year. 

A non-profit foundation has been formed to provide emergency and critical care needed for the many dogs and cats injured or abandoned each year in our area.  The Animal Emergency and Referral Center and its affiliated clinics, to answer this need, have established the Animal Care Foundation of Central Iowa.

The purpose of this Animal Care Foundation is to provide charitable funding for emergency medical care for sick or injured animals and to provide funding for professional education and community outreach concerning current advanced animal care.  This new Foundation has been approved by the State of Iowa and now has tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service.  It does not receive government funding and hence is totally dependent on support from corporate sponsors and individual donors.

To provide the resources needed to save the many household pets that cannot be professionally treated because of owner personal financial constraints, this Foundation has established the Good Samaritan Fund.  Our goal is to raise $100, 000 annually for this purpose.

We hope you will consider a tax-exempt gift to the Good Samaritan Fund.  With support from animal lovers like you the Fund will be able to save hundreds of cats and dogs lives.
